Reporting directly to the Manager, Transportation Engineering, this role is responsible for coordinating and advancing the projects/programs relating to sustainable transportation (e.g. walking, cycling, riding on transit, carpooling, ride-/car- sharing).
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a professional with education, training and/or knowledge normally acquired from a in Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations. Other disciplines will also be considered, such as Planning, Public Health, Public Administration or Engineering. Certification in, or in the progress of attaining, Project Management Professional will be considered an asset. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of years related working experience in planning and marketing/promotion related to sustainable transportation initiatives.
The ideal candidate will explore ways for Caledon residents/visitors/workers to travel with a range of mobility choices other than single occupancy vehicles, with duties including but not limited to: research best practices, identify infrastructure/ programming gaps, develop plans/policies, undertake projects/programs, and oversee implementation. We are seeking an individual who will engage and connect with the public in an educational and persuasive manner by canvassing, phone calls, in-person meetings, and other means of communications to convey technical/non-technical messages. This individual will collaborate with stakeholders in the public and private sectors to improve and promote sustainable transportation, by ways of evaluation, engineering, education, encouragement, and enforcement.
This position offers a salary range of $69,312 – $81,731 plus a competitive benefit package.
