The District of North Vancouver has an exciting regular full-time career opportunity available for a Traffic Technician.  You will be part of the Transportation Engineering team and will provide technical input and support on matters relating to transportation engineering work.

The work involves preparing preliminary designs and layouts for signs and road markings; recommending road and intersection improvements; performing traffic studies; preparing recommendations related to parking management and boulevard use; summarizing and interpreting traffic data; and providing information and assistance to internal and external contacts concerning applicable traffic policies and regulations.  Independent judgement and action is exercised in performing the assigned duties, referring more complex problems and matters of policy to a supervisor who checks and reviews work performance.

Graduation from a recognized college or institute of technology plus sound experience in traffic engineering with eligibility for registration with ASTTBC preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, Excel and other standard office software is essential.  A valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence is also required.

The pay range for this unionized position is $33.56 to $39.50 per hour based on a 35-hour work week.
