Job Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of Stage 2 Light Rail Transit (LRT) project fixed facilities for both the Confederation Line east and west, and Trillium Line south extensions, including the construction of stations, maintenance and storage facilities, and other related civil structure construction. The Program Manager will lead a large cross-functional team to ensure that the business needs and outcomes of the project are satisfied and will demonstrate expert understanding of P3 projects and risk management in construction and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Additional responsibilities include:
– Administration of highly complex, multi-million-dollar projects that will require accountable decision-making duties that will extend over multiple years;
– Participating in project prioritization, planning, field office establishment, procedures preparation, field
office inspections, staff oversight and assignment;
– Developing and monitoring operating budgets; and,
– Contributing to the design review process.

The Program Manager is also responsible for managing the unit’s human (including contracted services) and financial resources, and stakeholder and partner relationships.

Education & Experience

4-year university degree in Engineering or Applied Science

Minimum of 5 years related experience in construction management, construction engineering, engineering design on a LRT system, rail and or heavy construction related infrastructure projects, including a minimum of three (3) years of project responsible in charge experience, including a minimum of 2 years in the management of human and financial resources.

*Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements.
