*** UPDATED ROOM LOCATION: The event will now be held in the Members’ Lounge of the North York Civic Centre. ***
The Toronto ITE Section had a busy fall season with more exciting winter events to kick off 2019. You may recall that City of Toronto’s submission for ‘King Street Transit Pilot’ was reviewed by a panel of judges along with 3 other submissions and won the ITE Toronto Section’s 2018 Project of the Year Award last December.
As a follow up to this recognition, we are excited to invite you to the section’s first event in 2019, a FREE presentation session by City of Toronto to learn more about this project.
The presenters will further discuss the following:
o Launched in November 2017, King Street Transit Pilot between Bathurst Street and Jarvis Street, aims to improve transit reliability, speed, and capacity by giving priority to streetcars over private vehicles
o King Street Transit Pilot explored ideas for how to redesign King Street in order to achieve objectives: move people more efficiently, support economic prosperity, improve place-making
o Compared to the November 2017 baseline data, overall weekday ridership of the 504 King streetcar has increased by 17%, with peak period ridership up to 45% higher
COST: FREE (Please RSVP)
Light breakfast will be provided
