Innovative Mobility Planning – “Disrupting Mobility Ecosystem by Combining Multimodal, Innovation, and Creative Design”

Urban planning, infrastructure design, and mobility policy are up against a tough system-level challenge: the rapid adaptation of shared mobility. The presentation will describe a new mobility planning process that incorporates and addresses people-oriented needs while changing mobility analysis and assessment process and identifying future aspects of the symbiotic relation of a mobility ecosystem to six fundamental interactive elements.

Presenter: Dewan Karim PEng., PTOE – City of Toronto, Senior Transportation Planner

Dewan spent more than eighteen years of his career in mobility planning and creative engineering projects in both Japan and Canada. Awarded by MIT Media Lab conference as “Best Planning System” and ITE Project of The Year in 2015, he developed a new innovative mobility ecosystem master planning concept combining equitable use of public space, sustainable safety, innovative technologies, and evidence based scientific approach of rebuilding cities for people instead of cars.
