Imagine Harvey Avenue

May 29, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm PDT

The BC Interior Chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers is pleased to invite you to our upcoming community event, Imagine Harvey Avenue, What’s Sustainability Got to do with It? Explore with us why sustainable design is important for the Kelowna area and learn from examples of sustainable design in other global communities. Join us at 6:30 pm on Monday May 29th at the Kelowna Yacht Club for light food, drinks and great conversations in support of a bright future for Kelowna.

We are pleased to feature our two guest speakers Peter Van Rijn and Marc Verheijen who have travelled all the way from Rotterdam, Netherlands.  Peter is a Professor of Integrated Infrastructure and Safe Systems Design at Hogeschool in Rotterdam.  Marc is a member of faculty at the Delft University of Technology and is the Author of the book Infratecture: Infrastructure by Design, 2015.  Both Peter and Marc will share their knowledge and discuss examples of sustainable and safe infrastructure design, which will be followed by a discussion activity about creating ideas and opportunities for the area around Harvey Avenue.

Registration for tickets is by donation with a suggested amount of $20, of which 50% will be donated to the Okanagan Rail Trail Initiative.  Visit our registration website at the link to register: https://tinyurl.com/kgz9q42
