CITE/TAC Luncheon – Ottawa’s Stage 2 LRT

On Friday April 21st, we will be receiving a presentation by Chris Swail of the City of Ottawa on the subject of Ottawa’s Stage 2 LRT Expansion to the East, West and South.
Chris Swail is the Director of the O-Train Planning Office responsible for the delivery and implementation of the planned $3 billion Stage 2 Light Rail Transit (LRT) extensions of Ottawa’s Confederation and Trillium Lines. A former Chief of Staff to the Deputy City Manager of Planning and Infrastructure, his job is to coordinate the implementation of City’s expanded O-Train LRT network.
Among his many roles at the City to date, Chris assisted in leading the in the city-wide review and update of land use, transportation and infrastructure policies that make up the Official Plan, Transportation Master Plan, Infrastructure Master Plan, Cycling Plan and Pedestrian Plan, the policies which helped guide the development of the Stage 2 project. An Ottawa native, Chris holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and English Literature from the Simon Fraser University.
