CITE/TAC Lunch and Learn: Autonomous Vehicles – Status and Trends

On Friday April 8th, we will be receiving a presentation by Barrie Kirk of the Canadian Automated Vehicles Centre of Excellence (CAVCOE) on the subject of Autonomous Vehicles – Status and Trends.
Barrie C. Kirk, P.Eng.
He has been a consultant since 1982. His projects over the last few years have focused on autonomous vehicles, connected vehicles, automotive infotainment, traveller information services, real-time traffic information, and vehicle use surveys.
Barrie received a B.Sc. (Honours) in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications and Electronics) from Coventry University, U.K. He is a Professional Engineer licensed by Professional Engineers Ontario.
Autonomous Vehicles: Status and Trends
In the 21st Century, autonomous vehicles (AVs) will have an impact on our transportation and transit systems, cities, economy, society and the world that is every bit as broad and substantial as the impact of the car in the 20th Century. Barrie Kirk, a well-known AV expert, consultant, speaker and broadcaster, will describe the current status of AVs, the deployment trends, the impacts on traffic, as well as the larger socio-economic impacts.
