Canadian Capacity Guide Methodology & PTV Vistro Software Workshop (Vancouver Area)
September 13 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm$150 – $450
We are excited to announce a full day methodology and software workshop related to the Canadian Capacity Guide for Signalized Intersections (CCG).
WHAT IS CCG?
The Canadian Capacity Guide (CCG, 3rd ed.) is one of the most comprehensive and longest running projects undertaken by CITE. It is endorsed by the Transportation Association of Canada as a national reference on traffic engineering. As featured in Transportation Talk (Winter 2017-2018), over the past year the CITE Traffic Engineering Subcommittee has been engaging in outreach to promote awareness and understanding of the CCG. Among the most exciting recent announcements is that PTV Group has added the CCG as an analysis option in the latest PTV Vistro 6 Traffic Analysis Software, alongside other alternative methodologies like the Highway Capacity Manual. This inclusion will help support the use of the CCG by providing a modern and functional platform to implement the methodology.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND AND WHY:
- Regardless of your affiliation, whether governing agency, consulting or academia, we believe this will be highly beneficial as a refresher or introduction because of its focus on understanding some of the basic methods and procedures of intersection capacity analysis.
- This also offers an exciting chance to be guided through some of the newest features of the PTV Vistro Software.
FULL DAY WORKSHOP (SEPTEMBER 13, 2018) : CANADIAN CAPACITY GUIDE METHODOLOGY & PTV VISTRO SOFTWARE WORKSHOP
Agenda and Instructors: This full-day training session, organized by the CITE Training Committee, will be valuable as a refresher or introduction to intersection capacity analysis and CCG regardless of your affiliation — governing agency, consulting or academia — because of its focus on understanding some of the basic methods and procedures. It is also a great opportunity to be guided through some of the newest features of the PTV Vistro Software!
- In the morning, Dan Havercroft, B.A.Sc., P.Eng., PTOE, who has over 30 years of experience in traffic engineering instruction, will provide an introduction to the terminology, structure and procedures of the CCG, along with detailed discussions on saturation flow rates and adjustments, measures of effectiveness and other relevant topics. Following a lunch and networking break, an experienced instructor from the PTV Team will lead a workshop on how to analyze signalized intersections using the CCG methodology option in the PTV Vistro Software; additionally, an overview of how to conduct traffic studies, evaluate development impacts and optimize signals using PTV Vistro will be covered. The PTV trainers are well versed in intersection capacity analyses and provide numerous software trainings annually.
Note: Lunch will be provided for this full-day session.
