We are excited to be your host for the 2005 Canadian
Institute of Transportation Engineers Annual Conference in Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan. The banks of the South Saskatchewan River through this
location have been a meeting place for people from the Northern Plains
for 6000 years and we are proud to extend our rich tradition of
hospitality to you. The Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers
(CITE) is a district of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE),
an international individual member educational and scientific
association that is one of the largest and fastest-growing multimodal
professional transportation organizations in the world. Members are
traffic engineers, transportation planners and other professionals who
are responsible for meeting society’s needs for safe and efficient
surface transportation through planning, designing, implementing,
operating and maintaining surface transportation systems. The CITE 2005
conference will provide you an opportunity to gain technical knowledge,
meet your colleagues from across the country and to strengthen the
organization and our profession by your participation. The 2005
Conference will focus on three main themes:
Transportation’s role in the economic, social and cultural growth of our
communities, regions and country.
The
continued importance of providing safe facilities and systems for the
public.
Exposing practitioners to innovation in design, policy and technology.
Along with a superb technical program, many social
and recreational opportunities will be available for delegates, their
companions and their family. We look forward to hosting you in Saskatoon
and making your time here professionally and personally rewarding.
Sincerely,
Don Cook, AITE, P.Eng., Conference Chair
