CITE Executive

The Canadian District Executive consists of five elected positions that are tasked with managing the District’s technical development, membership communication, and maintaining continuity within the ITE international network of Districts.

The purpose and mission of CITE is to enable transportation and traffic engineers, transportation planners, technologists and other professionals with knowledge and competence in transportation and traffic engineering to contribute individually and collectively towards meeting needs for mobility and safety within Canada.

As part of our role in ITE, CITE contributes the Canadian perspective and experience to broaden the expertise of members worldwide.

Our mission will be accomplished by:

  • Promoting professional development of members;
  • Supporting and encouraging education and ongoing training;
  • Stimulation of research and undertaking selected technical projects;
  • Development of public awareness of transportation’s role in society, the environment and the economy;
  • Exchange of professional information; and by
  • Maintaining a central point of reference and pro-active action.

Elections are conducted every two years in conjunction with the annual conference during the Annual General Meeting. The current Executive has a mandate for 2009-2011. The next elections will occur in 2011 during the Halifax Conference.

Institute of Transportation Engineers

In accepting the office to which you have been elected in the Institute of Transportation Engineers, will you discharge to the best of your ability all the duties of that office?  (I will)

Will you uphold the professional standing, honour and dignity of the Institute at all times by example and precept? (I will)

Will you be governed by the Institute's Constitution and by the policies, rules and procedures established by the Board of Direction? (I will)

And will you work diligently and faithfully for the advancement and betterment of the Institute and its members? (I will)
